Like everyone else who has been exposed to the phenomenon that is Overwatch
, the Victory theme that plays over the Play of the Game recap is stuck in my head. So I took what meager experience I have with music creation and editing software and carved out a short version of it. I think it sounds rough and unpolished, so someday I might apply what I learn later to attempt to make it shine. I used Linux Multimedia Studio for composing and editing
, and Audacity for mastering.
I’ve known about the existence of this game for a while, but I was never curious enough to check it out. It’s a 2D platform fighter in the vein of Super Smash Bros.
, but its characters are original to the game. Someone in chat brought it up, and I thought I’d check it out. I almost wish I hadn’t. While I was trying to get a hold of how the controls worked, I was getting flashbacks to my days playing fighting games at the local arcade. Between that and the stress of not letting myself fall off the platforms, I was grinning like an idiot. And just like that, a couple of hours on a Saturday morning disappeared without my realizing it. It’s going to take sometime to get confident enough to leave training mode for a meatier challenge.

More or less. You won’t see many changes visually for now, just different links in the sidebar. What will this be about? A lot more than Star Trek and writing. My interests at moment
